I shop here mostly when I'm looking for good prices on toys, but I browse other areas and sometimes find an unexpected treat. Another good reason to shop here is if you're looking for barely out-of-date toys. For instance, my son started liking Bear In the Big Blue House about a season after the show peaked. We couldn't find Bear toys anywhere, but Big Lots had picked up the remainders and we found a few things there. The store itself is not an enjoyable place to spend any amount of time. The aisles are narrow and even a few people in the store can make it feel crowded. When there really are a lot of people in the store, the shopping experience can be miserable and I usually leave.

Now, I must admit, every now and then I have fun finding a good deal at Big Lots, but it's my kids who love to go there. I usually let them each pick out a toy that costs around a dollar and they just think that's great. It's almost as good as taking them to the zoo, they have so much fun looking around trying to decide what to get. The store is usually fairly well organized and clean.
